- Richard holds a Doctorate of Education, a Master’s Degree in Management Information Systems, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. Rich is a 23-year Army veteran who retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1990. He was awarded the Legion of Merit for his years of service. Richard twice chaired the Sarasota Better Business Council and sat on the Board of the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves on the Board of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County and on an advisory committee to the Sarasota County School Board. He is President of the Sarasota County Veterans Commission, and has been appointed as Chairman of the Sarasota National Cemetery Advisory Committee by Congressman Vern Buchanan.

Thanks for posting this powerful video on your website. Many years ago when I taught American History I used the program for the express purpose of instructing students in how to develop and defend a historical thesis for their historical research papers. Whether or not you agreed with the producers (and I did agree with the thesis of the movie) it presented students with an excellent example and one which always provoked intense class discussions. I had left my original copy in the high school I taught at back then and always wished I had retained it. Your blog and the internet have solved my problem of obtaining another copy! Thanks!
